ATEC is a diversified firm engaged in serving financial institutions, attorneys, accountants, bankruptcy trustees and others in the appraisal, evaluation and liquidation of assets. Formed in 1977, ATEC began representing local financial institutions in the appraisal, evaluation and liquidation of collateral. ATEC now boasts clients throughout the United States and Canada, and has undertaken appraisal, evaluation, and liquidation projects throughout both countries. ATEC performs 200 - 300 appraisals annually, including an average of 12 auctions per year.

We are certain that once these services are reviewed, you will see that ATEC is far more than simply a liquidator. ATEC’s primary goal in any situation is to maximize recovery. To this end, ATEC brings all of its experience to bear in determining the various alternative methods of collection or liquidation. Only after considering all factors do we proceed with a plan of action. Such a plan may involve litigation, private sales, advertised foreclosure sales, or public auctions. With respect to the latter, ATEC has several licensed auctioneers on staff and can handle all aspects from advertising to site preparation, to the organization and lotting of the auction.

Since savings and loan assets often include commercial loans involving far more than real estate, ATEC believes that its experience and expertise can be of great advantage in maximizing collections. ATEC proposes to furnish the following services either as a package or individually as the needs of the client dictate in any given situation:

1. Loan document review. ATEC can arrange for and coordinate a thorough and efficient review of loan documentation to assess rights and remedies, to identify problems while they are still capable of being corrected, and to assist with and/or handle the preparation and delivery of required notices of default, demand or foreclosure.
2. Analysis of potential recovery and exposure. ATEC can realistically evaluate all items of collateral and estimate recoveries.
3. Development of a liquidation strategy. After reviewing all possible options concerning the sale of assets, ATEC will develop a strategy and plan of action that will maximize recovery on the liquidation of the assets.
4. Implementation. Once an overall strategy has been developed, ATEC can either assist with or handle its implementation. ATEC has experience in all facets of recoveries, including negotiations with debtors, guarantors and other creditors. Our experience includes all documentation, monitoring of collections and inventory levels, as well as liquidations. Of course, if the situation dictates, ATEC’s liquidation services are our primary area of expertise. Whether the assets consist of accounts receivable, machinery & equipment, inventory, real estate, or intangibles, ATEC can provide the most effective means of liquidation and recovery.
